Troubleshooting

I forgot my password. How do I retrieve it?
Click the forgot password link under the login area and follow the steps.
Why can't I view parts of the site from my government PC?
Outdated security settings cause certain aspects of the site to be blocked by government firewalls on particular Web browsers. A known issue occurs with Internet Explorer from certain government facilities we are actively working to resolve. The best way around this problem is to use an alternate Web browser, such as Firefox or Chrome.
I see some strange data anomalies. Why?
Some data we extract from Facebook and Twitter is inaccurate due to times where their systems crash, fail, or produce inaccurate results. Other anomalies can occur during an outage of our servers. A major Amazon cloud server crash occurred on April 21st, which prevented us from crawling data on the days that followed.
Why are the numbers on my dashboard different than I what see on Twitter or Facebook?
Differences can occur for a few reasons. Time zones affect the numbers slightly. OhMyGov standardizes everything to Eastern Standard Time. Other differences may result in how we calculate things. For accounts with multiple social media handles, we summarize the statistics. Differences also may occur do to the fact we crawl the Web eight times a day for information to get results in near-real time, but not in real-time. Finally, be sure you check the date selected inside the system is the date you wish to be looking at.

Contracting

Will OhMyGov help me interpret the data?
Absolutely. You just need to ask. We can also create custom reports and provide more in-depth analyses. For more information, visit our consulting website.
Is OhMyGov on the GSA Schedule?
No, but we are an SBIR grantee so you can sole-source contracts to us simply by citing the U.S. code. The language needed for a Justification and Approval form is as follows:
"This justification and approval authorizes and approves the issuance of an SBIR Phase Ill firm fixed price contract that is derived from, extends, or logically concludes efforts performed under prior funding agreements and is authorized under 10 U.S.C. 304(b)(2) or 41 U.S.C. 253(b)(2)."
What is an SBIR grantee?
The Small Business Innovative Research grant program provides federal funding to small businesses offering highly disruptive technologies that deliver incredible benefits to society. To ensure funded companies can compete with larger organizations, federal law requires federal agencies to give preferential treatment, including sole-source awards, to SBIR grantees.
The competition for SBIR Phase I and Phase II awards satisfies any competition requirement of the Armed Services Procurement Act, the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act, and the Competition in Contracting Act. Therefore, an agency that wishes to fund an SBIR Phase III project is not required to conduct another competition in order to satisfy those statutory provisions. As a result, in conducting actions relative to a Phase III SBIR award, it is sufficient to state for purposes of a Justification and Approval pursuant to FAR 6.302-5, that the project is a SBIR Phase III award that is derived from, extends, or logically concludes efforts performed under prior SBIR funding agreements and is authorized under 10 U.S.C. 2304(b)(2) or 41 U.S.C. 253(b)(2).

For Phase III, Congress intends that agencies or their Government-owned, contractor-operated facilities, Federally-funded research and development centers, or Government prime contractors that pursue R/R&D or production developed under the SBIR Program, give preference, including sole source awards, to the awardee that developed the technology. In fact, the Act requires reporting to SBA of all instances in which an agency pursues research, development, or production of a technology developed by an SBIR awardee, with a concern other than the one that developed the SBIR technology. (See Section 4(c)(7) immediately below for agency notification to SBA prior to award of such a funding agreement and Section 9(a)(12) regarding agency reporting of the issuance of such award.) SBA will report such instances, including those discovered independently by SBA, to Congress.
