The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economics and Statistics Administration (ESA) has decided to continue the economicindicators.gov website, thanks to the large number of responses the Department of Commerce received about shutting the site down.  

Last night, the blogosphere was buzzing with speculation as why the site was being taken offline.  It appears the negative press, in concert with direct requests to keep the site alive, convinced those at Commerce to continue keeping these important economic indicators available to the public.  Hopefully, those running the site will take this opportunity to improve the site by making it more graphically appealing.
