A Freedom of Information Act request was recently answered by the CIA, and a few documents relating to the Iran-Contra scandal sent in response. Pretty much standard procedure, except that the request was submitted in 1989. Also, the CIA forgot about it when they reported that their oldest FOIA request was from 1992 when reporting to Congress in 2008.
For two sides of the story, you can read the critical FOIA coordinator's view and an analyst's view (which doesn't address the fact that the request took 20 years to process).

Why is the federal government able to miss our official pay dates? Today is Sunday November 15. Our pay date was Friday November 13. Our paychecks, which are automatically deposited, have not yet been deposited in our accounts. When they eventually do get deposited, they will be back dated to Nov 13. Why is the federal government allowed to be late on every pay check?

sounds like a bank issue...my check (every other Thursday) is deposited on the day prior (Wednesday)...I love USAA.
