Sound Bites: Funding for education technology nears $1 billion

Since February, $920 million in new federal funding has been tagged for purchasing education technology. Funding stems from a combination of the $787 billion stimulus package and the $410 billion omnibus spending bill signed last week by the President.

The money will pay for things like computers in classrooms, Internet service, and online learning platforms and curriculum development.
