This morning, FBI officials raided the DC city government offices of former DC Chief Technology Office (CTO), and incoming Obama Chief Information Officer (CIO), Vivek Kundra. The raid took place as Kundra was giving a policy speech that was getting lots of attention on Twitter.
According to an FBI spokesman, Kundra is not a target of the investigation. Instead, it appears to be focused on an aide named Yusuf Acar who may have had an improper relationship with Sushil Bansal, who was also arrested and who runs Advanced Integrated Technologies Corp.
Kundra has been much lauded by technology enthusiast and is/was poised to take the administrations lead information technology position. According to local press Kundra has apparently taken administrative leave.
