040105 ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF OF STAFF - Senior Democratic Senator seeks highly organized, detail-oriented individual to serve as the Assistant to the Chief of Staff in a fast-paced office. Main responsibilities include (but are not limited to) managing the Chief of Staff's communications, schedule and logistics, answering and routing telephone calls, coordinating staff meetings and room requests, supporting event planning for the office and special correspondence for the Senator and Chief of Staff. Additionally, this role also includes Office Manager responsibilities in overseeing intern coordination, managing the front office, covering emergency planning and coordination, reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates, and handling all financial aspects of the office including payroll anddisbursements. Finally, the position also contains various long and  short-term research and project assignments for the Chief of Staff. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is able to adapt quickly to this varied position and will take initiative in problem-solving. Ideal candidates include recent college graduates with past Hill experience and a natural sense of responsibility and discretion.
