Former Secretary of State Albright Declares the Next Presidency 'Most Difficult We've Seen in a Long Time'

By Django Gold Feb 29 2008, 11:02 AM

Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State under the Clinton Administration, recently appeared on the Daily Show and made a number of deeply troubling statements about the state of American foreign policy, the Iraq war, and the world in general.  The bleakest statement (and least partisan - she is a staunch Democrat) involved her assessment of the state of world politics.   "I have spent my life in foreign policy and I have never seen the world in such a mess."

Albright went on to declare Iraq the "greatest disaster in American foreign policy" and predicted that the next Presidency will be the "most difficult we've seen in a long time."

Watch the first part of Albright's interview below.  Those only interested in her policy perspective should fast forward to the 3 minute mark in the video to avoid the usual Stewart banter.

In the second part of the interview, Albright discusses the race for President and her support for Hillary Clinton.  This is much less interesting, but we wanted to give you something to do at work on Friday afternoon.
