WASHINGTON (AP) -- The FBI took up the Roger Clemens case Thursday, told by the Justice Department to investigate whether the star pitcher lied when he testified to Congress he never took performance-enhancing drugs. The FBI's involvement was announced one day after the leaders of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee told Attorney General Michael Mukasey they weren't sure whether Clemens told the truth under oath at a Feb. 5 deposition and Feb. 13 public hearing. I am sick and tired of this witch hunt for a man who allegedly benefited from the use of illegal drugs. I am also sick of the Congress and press for paying too much attention to this issue when they should be addressing real issues like the economy, the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, health care, etc.: issues that affect each and every American. Little hint here...Clemens is not the only alleged illegal drug user in America...millions of Americans use recreational drugs. So opposed to looking for a scapegoat for a athlete who played baseball which affects very few americans, let's focus on the hard issues that affect all Americans! If the Congress wants to investigate anyone for perjury, start with Condoleezza Rice who perjured herself during the 911 commission hearings. Now there is someone who lied to Congress about issues which affect every American either though our blood and/our treasure!
